What To Do???

I been thinking the big thoughts... and my brain is getting mighty sore...  I've even enlisted the aid of Big Teddy!

My Birthday numbered Seven is coming up in two weeks and I want to have a party but don't know what to do...  I really liked George's idea of pictures of steps but don't want to copy so this is what I've come up with...

Because I'm a lover...  you could send in pictures of you kissing someone...  or

Because I'm a laid back dude... you could send in a picture of yourself relaxin'...   or

Because I'm the baddest dog in these here parts... you could send in a picture of you doing something naughty... or

Because I was the cutest puppy evers, I could get mom to post all the 546459700034 pictures of me when I was a pup...

So let me know what party you would like to go to in the comments and then we'll post on where to send them.

How does that sound to you Big Teddy?  Is that a good plan?

Snow Done Gone...

Well, we had another snowfall on Thursday and since then it's been warming up and it's pretty all gone now...

Here's a short video of our walkie on Thursday... we were out for about 45 minutes!  And at the end we did a little bit of zoomie action!

Hope everyone has had a great Thanksgiving Holiday!

SNOW DAY!!!

It is crazy out there today!  Enough so that mom got to leave work early... her normal 15 minute drive home took almost an hour!

As soon as she got home, we went for a walk so here are some of our pictures of a crazy snow day in Victoria, British Columbia!

Snow Zoomies!

Everything looks different with snow on it!

You can even see the blowing snow!

More zoomies!

And some more!

It looks like we live in some arctic place... brrr...

And who wears loafers out in the snow???
Our Mom!  And now she's complaining that her toes are frozen!

This stuff is kind of fun!

The forecast says that it'll be normal by Thursday which means 7 above and raining!

A Mystery Solved!

For days, weeks, no... we shall say MONTHS now...  I have had a mystery to solve in my home!

I have suspected nefarious activities have been happening whilst I have been asleep...

Me... napping... perchance to dream.  Unaware of nefarious activities happening.

Last night, I told mom to stay awake with the flashy beast at the ready on the chance that said nefarious activity would once again happen.  You will notice that is her nose in the bottom left of the picture below.

You may also notice the orange creature snuggled up next to mom.  My back foot can also be viewed in close proximity to the orange creature.

Now before I show you the last photo, I must warn you that it is disturbing and may induce nightmares in the faint of heart...

I feel that I should also say that the nefarious activity of which I speak is... I hope everyone is sitting down...

I think that whilst I am in a deep slumber and unable to defend myself as any self-respecting dog would, I believe... oh, this is almost too horrible to share...  I believe that someone is licking my bum!

I know!  The HORROR!  The SHAME I have felt these past months... I have thought that I may have been drinking too much that it has been inducing STRANGE dreams... I was loath to say anything to Pippen for fear he would mock me... and so, I enlisted the aid of my mother to take the final picture you see here.  ***Please scroll down...***

Evidence!  The kitteh has been engaging in nefarious activities whilst I, Sam, have been slumbering and unable to defend myself!

Oh! Dear Friends!  I entreat you to send me your words of wisdom so that I may be able to combat this... this...  HORROR that I must live with daily...

Please do not think of me as a lesser dog because of these 'lickings' and please don't tell Pippen, I'll never hear the end of this!

What the ????

When we got up this morning there was a bunch of white stuff on the ground...

And the water in my Mango water bowl is mushy!

Sure... some of you might be laughing at me... but out here on the westcoast, we don't see this stuff very much!  And it's still cold and windy out there with a chance of more snow on the way!

I wonder how much more we'll be getting?  And will Pippen and I be able to do those snow zoomies we are always reading about?

In the meantime, we are off to bed for our early morning nap...  you know... to prepare for our mid morning nap!

It's Official!

A couple weeks ago mom did something without telling us!  When she came home from work today she told us all about it...

She entered our picture in a contest at work that would raise money for something...  we didn't really pay attention to that part because all we really cared about was how well we did!

Mom entered this picture.  We didn't win the top prize but we did win...

MOST HANDSOME!

Mom didn't win anything except for bragging rights on having the handsomest dogs EH-FUR!!!

A Cautionary Tale...

WARNING!  Weird Photo ahead that may disturb some viewers!

Mom and I loves to wrestle and sometimes Pippen will join us but he's funny, he thinks there's a rule somewhere that says no wrestling with moms.

So we was wrestling and having fun.  Mom had me in a headlock when Pippen came over for a "Hey There"...  Mom stopped what she was doing to give Pippen some loving butt I didn't get the memo.

In my super duper excited state, I got up really fast and smashed, let's make that SMASHED the top of my head into mom's chin!  Total OOPS on my part!  Mom fell over on the bed and Pip and I looked at each other, like, UH-OH!  And Pip says to me... I told you there's a rule about wrestling with moms!

So after awhile when mom was finally able to get up she went to check things out and this is what happened to her tongue...

She said her jaw was sore and couldn't chew or yawn and it hurt to sneeze.

For a while there I was totally worried I might have a concussion but mom said my head is like a rock and that's unlikely to happen!

This morning mom says she's feeling 97% better and was able to eat breakfast, yawn and sneeze!

So the moral of the story is that you should ALWAYS make sure where your mom's chin is in relation to your head!

SNAKE!!!!

The other day when we went to bed, this is what we saw when mom turned on the light!

It looked like he was going to go back under the bed so mom said we should just leave him and he wouldn't bother us!

And that's just what we did but look what we found when we went to bed last night!  He's sleeping in our bed!

Mom managed to get a close up of him before he slithered off again...

But he wasn't going away!  I think he was HUNGRY and wanted to EAT me!  I know how sneaky those snakes can be... I watch the National Geographic Channel when mom's at work...

I decided to take matters into my own paws...  I was going to try to kill it!  So I whipped around and grabbed him by the belly and gave him a good bite...

Butt, while I was busy doing that he encircled my neck!

And he wrapped himself around me tighter!  I was gasping for air!  My eyes were popping out of my head!  And Mom is taking pictures!  Can't she see that I am in distress?  And where the heck is Pippen?

Without any help from my family I managed to extricate myself and this time, instead of biting him, I tried to squish him!

While I had him stunned, I thought I should thoroughly check under the blankets to see if there were any others like him!

Luckily for us there weren't any more...

After all my hard work, mom found a box and put him in it and we'll take him to animal control tomorrow so he can be adopted or looked after in an appropriate setting!

Rainy Saturday Activities

It's raining out today... very grey and cool outside.  There's only one thing for us to do... Look out the patio door and watch the rain fall.

Mom, on the other hand, is painting...  She's been reading about Lorenza's mom too much and now thinks she can be handy too!  She found these two nightstands at the garbage in the complex.  She actually went into the dumpster to get one!  One of the tops was cracked but we filled it last night and now it's good to go.  They'll soon be a nice dark chocolate brown and then into the guest room.

Here's our front yard... with big puddles (no relation to THE Puddles) in the street.  Mom wanted us to get out there and get our business done before she opened the can of paint.  For some reason, she thinks today is all about her... must work on her training some more.

No one around... I guess we are the only crazy people to stand outside in the rain!

And here's our Saturday Steps...

We need to practice looking at the camera!

Blessing of the Animals

Today, we got to go to church to the blessing of the animals!

This here is the church, St. Paul's Anglican.

Is it time to go in yet?  We want to be blessed!

Walking down the aisle... these seats are pretty close together...

Here's a pretty stained glass window at the front of the church.

and this is the special window that was made to comemorate the Canadian Navy's 100th Anniversary.

and the front of the church!

Pip, I hope they aren't going to do any signing because I don't think I can reach the hymn book!

Here's our girl, Mitzi... sticking her tongue out at us in church!

We tried to be on our best behaviour.  We didn't bark at the strange dogs at all!

After the service, we all rushed outside to go pee!

and then it was off to the hall to get refreshments and chit chat with the other blessed dogs.

Here's the spread they had for us!  They even had Cheetos!

Saying hi to one of our friends.

Another one of our friends, Sarah.

Then after meeting and greeting and getting our fill of Cheetos, we headed for home.

Mom took video of the service so if you'd like to check it out, you can find it here:

and yes... mom was shushing us in church!
