Pippen's Saturday Stroll

Usually, on our morning walks I take control and lead everyone to where I want to go.  Today, I was kind of tired so I let Pippen take the lead.

BIG mistake!  We were gone over an hour!  And at one point, I was sure we were lost...

It all started innocently enough...

Pippen wanted to go across the street into the residential area.  We've been that way before so I gave the okay.

but then we kept walking...

and walking...

We walked so far that we saw lizards on houses!  LIZARDS!

Finally we got to the end of the street and stopped at the sign.

I was beginning to get worried when mom said to turn right....  I didn't think that was the way to go and I kept wanting to turn back but mom said no.

Then we saw a seagull...  I was sure he was going to attack us but he didn't.

I wanted to stop at the store that had this sign but mom said we didn't have any moneys so we continued on.

I kept sniffing stuff, checking the pee mail, but I didn't know who anyone in this part of the world was...

I was becoming concerned.

Pippen didn't care.  He was on a mission.  After reading Tank's post a couple days ago, Pip wanted to make sure that everything we saw was his...  not Tank's...

This one's mine...

And then I saw it...  far off in the distance...  the sign of our mall!  I knew where we were and how to get home!

Let's go!

Before we got home, we had to scare the bejeebers out of some birds...

and mom had to take a picture of a pretty tree.

We made it back safe and sound once again!

That's the last time I let Pippen be in charge of our walking route!

Hope everyone has a safe and happy weekend!

My Special Power...

There are times that Sam will go to bed before mom does...

I really don't like that because that means Sam is upstairs and mom is downstairs...

How am I supposed to protect both of them if they are separated?

So this is what I do...

No matter what mom is doing, I sit in her sight line and stare at her.

It only takes about 5 minutes before she turns off the tv or computer and follows me upstairs!

Sometimes mom tries to ignore the special power but then I'll growl at her...  Once she looks into my eyes, she's a goner!

My First Bear Kill!

So this happened a couple years ago but I was just thinking about it the other day and thought everyone would like to see my first bear kill.

Lucky for me mom had the flashy beast ready to go when I first saw the bear enter the house!

Please be forewarned that these are a bit graphic so any sensitive doggies should look away now...

As soon as I saw the bear I knew it would be a fight to the death so I started off with a quick bite to the ear...

From there, a little game of bitey face to let him think I was just playing...

Then I went for the neck...

One ear...

and then the other ear...

and finally, the death grip...

After it was all over, I felt a bit sick from all the bear hair that I ingested but I soon recovered.

And mom was gracious enough to take a photo of me with my first bear kill...

I have to admit that this was a couple years ago when I was only 4 so I'm not sure if I could take on such a fierce opponent now!

Slumber Sunday

While mom is busy doing the laundry, the dishes and painting the downstairs storage closet, I've kept myself busy...

Have I mentioned just how comfy my, er Pippen's, new bed is?

Our New Cousin!

Yesterday, we went for a car ride and then a walk in a new park...

We couldn't figure out why until we heard our Auntie's voice!  Holy Guacamole!  We haven't seen her in ages and we were super excited!

After we saids our hellos, we saw who else was there...

LOLA!

Lola is a West Highland Terror and is just a baby at ten weeks old!

We tried telling our auntie that we could teach Lola lots of good stuff... but all she said was 'oh no...  you two don't be needin' to teach her anything...'

We aren't sure what she meant by that cuz we're good boys...  most of the time anyway...

Lola was kind of shy at first...

but afters awhile, she started sniffing us...

She smacked Pippen on the head a couple times...

and like all the little girls, she fell for Pippen.  It must be the strong, silent type that they like...

and I caught them kissing again, later on...

when we tried to leave...

Lola didn't want Pippen to go and ran after us!

I'm sure we'll see her again very soon!

She said WHAT???

Did you see what Puddles said on her blog today?

No, not the bit about her Groundhog Day war wound... the bit about us!

Do you think she's taunting us?

Doesn't she know we eat groundhogs for breakfast... everyday?

Do you think she knows who she's dealing with?

Nope... I didn't thinks so eithers...

Something needs to be done about this 'situation'... and soon!
