Well, friends.... I gots me some bad news this weekend. It seems that I gots something called diabetes.
Mom was worried because I was peeing a lot so she thought I had a UTI but when they did the tests it said diabetes... that was yesterday.
Today, we went back to vet and got my blood tested and mom got a lesson on giving me insulin shots. I have to say that we are both awesome at that part! The vet lady wanted mom to try to monitor my glucose at home but there is no way I am going to let her poke me with a needle every day... we'll just need to monitor it another way.
Tomorrow, I have to go back to the vet so that they can check my blood glucose again to make sure the insulin is working the way it should. We'll keep you up to date on how everything is going but mom says that once we get everything sorted out, we won't have to really worry about anything!
We are all kind of tired now so I think we are all going to have a good old nap!
Hope you all have a happy Sunday!
Oh dear, that's not good news. BUT we know several diabetic dogs who, once they get it sorted, just get on with life. Bummer about the needles, though.

As long as you do what you're supposed to, things shouldn't be too tough. My momma has been diabetic since she was 4 years old and she is still doing ok :0)
