The Cat Bed

When mom got home from work tonight it was sprinkling with rain... you could hardly tell it was raining! Half way through our walk it turned into a torrential downpour and by the time we returned home, we were soaked down to our bones.

And that can mean only one thing...

Kerazy Dog Antics!

Pippen has these two beds that he sleeps in - they are actually cat beds and one fits nicely in the other. Pippen just barely fits but he loves them. Me... I decided to destroy them!

The first step was to separate them.

Of course, mom tried to stop me so I gave her my most scary face and told her to BACK OFF!

Look... it's almost like a cat bed SAMwich! BOL!!!

I went in there and dug with gusto and eventually separated them.

And then... the worst thing EVER happened!

The Kerazy Dog got tired from all that work...

So I decided it was time for a nap.

Destruction can wait for another day!

It rained all night and all our snow is gone. Mom's happy but I'm not. What am I supposed to now?

Wow... it's amazing how doing nothing is sooo tiring!

I might need a nap.

This bed isn't very comfortable... and it's too bright in here!

Snow Day!

Yesterday we woke up to SNOW!

And it kept coming down! Luckily mom was still sick so she didn't have to go to work. If you know anything about our neck of the woods, you'll know that everything comes to a stand still if we get a foot of snow... that's because we hardly ever get snow. Maybe once a year for one or two days...

As you can see, I'm pretty happy about the whole situation! All the schools were closed so some of the kids were out playing...

We even get to run in the street because there's hardly any trails yet on the sidewalks!

Okay, yeah... I was a bit over excited and kind of did a face plant here...

and maybe here too... it's just really exciting to have lots of snow!

Here we are scoping out our next steps.

Mom says I had ants in my pants. I was jumping up and jumping down...

After awhile though, I got a bit cold and tried to get someone to open their door but no one opened the door!

So I high-tailed it (literally!) back to mom...

It's so much fun to run, run, run in the snow!

Here we are blazing a trail for mom to follow... aren't we thoughtful???

More running! Did I mention mom thinks I had ants in my pants????

Oh, I just had to stop and laugh about how great my day is!

I luvs the snow!

Then we saw a couple of our friends building forts so we had to go say hi!

Pippen consulted on the fort building and gave the some good advices for the layout.

Me... I'm just interested in the pats!

After all that running.... I needed a nap!

After all, I had to rest up for the afternoon!

Snow or Not...

Yesterday, when we woked up it was all snowy on the ground!

Of course mom wasn't too keen on going out in it at 5 a.m. because she had the sickies again...

We finally convinced her though...

Halfway through our walkie, mom slipped and fell.... not to worry though - she has lots of padding on her butt!

She wasn't too thrilled when I wanted to keep going - she says she now knows who her favourite doggeh is for sure! Can I help it if Pippen is a goody four paws???

This is what our little neighbourhood looked like mid-morning.

Kinda purty if you ask me - and so am I!

Then later on in the afternoon we went out to play and...

it was ALL GONE!!!

This snow stuff is strange... I thought it was supposed to stick around for months on end???

This is a very disappointing turn of events!

Then, guess what!!!

We woked up this morning and it was back!

Is that weird or what???

After 3 weeks of vacation, mom went back to work yesterday... to say we had no idea what to do with ourselves would be a massive understatement!

We finally decided to go for a walkie on our own over to the mall to check out what was on the news stands... we needed a magazine to read!

First we went this way...

Then we went that way...

We checked the pee-mail at the strip mall...

We left a few of our own...

Then we headed over here...

After seeing what was on the news stand...

We had to rush home, lickety-split!

I knew I had to blog about this right away...

One of My Favourite Things...

Mom went out shopping yesterday WITHOUT us but we soon forgave her when she returned home.

Why would we do something like that? Well... she went to the butcher shop and bought us a couple bones!

These things are awesome!

Poor Pippen had to contend with Chico Kitteh trying to get in on the action...

We worked on those bones for most of the afternoon and on and off in the evening.

When it was time to go to bed, I didn't want to leave mine and was going to sleep downstairs with it but once mom turned out the lights... well... it gets pretty dark and lonely!

So I decided to take the bone upstairs so I could sleep with it in the bed.

Mom was pretty impressed that I could carry it all the way upstairs AND then jump up onto the bed with it.

She did get a little annoyed with all the slurp, slurp noises I was making when she was trying to sleep...

but I told her that she could always go sleep on the sofa if it was that much of a problem for her!

Yummm.... tastes like ice cream!

Mango Minster 2012 - Bad Sport Entry

It has recently come to my attention that a certain competitor in the Bad Sport Category of Mango Minster is maligning my good name.

Not only that but he is also claiming he has declared war on Canada and has WON that war. This is simply not true... if it was, do you not think he would have renamed the country to Tankanada?

Anyway... after much soul searching I have decided to also enter the Bad Sport Category of Mango Minster 2012. I know what you are thinking... Sam! You are a most cutie pie dog, you are not a bad sport!

Well let me tell you that this is also not true... I'm the baddest dog out there!

I love telling mom exactly how I feel if the treats are not up to par!

I love to stand on the street corner and yell HBO words at innocent passers-by just so that I can shock them! It's like they've never heard a dog say "BLEEP" before!

I can also go all rabid dog just because I feel like it! No one comes near our house unless I approve it!

I'm not afraid of big dogs and will always put them in their place!

Another great example of me yelling HBO words.

And finally, most important of all...

I relish exposing a certain opponent's true colours!

There you have it... My reasons for why I should win the Bad Sport Competition at this year's Mango Minster.

Mom's New Year Resolution

This year our mom is taking these resolution thingys seriously! She told us yesterday that after walking Mitzi by herself she had an idea and that was to start walking us separately as well!

One of the reasons mom wants to do this is because I've never really been separated from Sam. So... last week we started walking alone with mom each afternoon. The first time, I was so worried about Sam being at home alone... what if something happened to him? what if somebuddy broke into the house and stole him? Who would protect him? So I did a real quick pee and poop and then we ran back home. I was so happy to see Sam!

Everyday it gets easier and easier to stay out longer but I still worry about Sam the whole time we are out.

Today we were gone for quite awhile. I'm even getting excited about each adventure!

We are headed over to the gate to go outside of the complex.

Instead of our usual route, mom wanted us to do something different so I got to sniff these nice bushes.

Then when we got to the other gate, mom said we weren't going in there! I started to get worried... just where were we going?

Mom wanted us to go under the highway and over to the Galloping Goose Trail!

Those cars make lots of noise going over the bridge!

Okay, let's keep walking... the faster we walk the sooner we'll get back to Sam.

We have to go up this hill to get to the trail....

and a quick pee by the school yard.

There's the highway.... I wonder if we can cut across it to get back home faster???

See all those bicycles? There's about 15 of them... they all went by us and scared the bejeebers out of both me AND mom!

We got across the highway and from then on it was double quick home!

When mom opened the door, Sam smacked me on the head like he usually does and then told mom he wanted to go out next!

One good thing about this new routine, all this exercise really tires mom out!

let's just say we had fun.

Even Santa had the stuffing knocked out of him!

I'll be spending the day snuggled up on the couch, recovering...

She tells us that she's going to expand our horizons by giving us new foods to try out and then we'll let you know if you should try them too!

Today's food is BROCCOLI!

It smells okay...

but it feels funny when it goes in your mouths...

Yep... it does smell good...

but not good enough to eat!

So the review from the Habitat is that we wouldn't eat broccolis BUT we would play with it!

My Christmas Vacation at Sam and Pippen's House - A Guest Post!

Hello, everybuddy! My name is Mitzi and I was abandoned by my mom at Christmas! She is supposedly coming back to get me as she just went on a mini-vacation... I'll believe that when she gets back!

Anyway, I've been at Sam and Pippen's house for four days now and let me tell you... those boys are crazy! Don't worry about me though... I'm a girl and I know how to boss them around!

At first their mom would take us all out at once but it was just crazy making for her - nothing that I did of course... It was all Sam and Pippen's fault.

As a matter of fact, she tried to sell one of us to a neighbour and they said there was no way they'd buy Sam but they would certainly take me! That's because I'm so cute!

Anyway, whenever we were outside together, Sam had to follow me around and get in my business! As soon as I used the facilities, he was there to pee right over mine! He even told me why he did that... he didn't want anyone knowing a GIRL was staying at his house!

I thought that was pretty nerve-y of him so...

on Christmas morning, when he opened his present from Santa, I stole it from him!

I sniffed out his hiding spot for one of his yummy bones....

and I nommed on it! I even turned my back on both of them when they started to whine and cry!

I took over Sam's nice and comfy bed AND made sure that I kept MY bone with me!

To top it all off, I used all my 'cute little doggie' tricks on their mom so that I would get the majority of the snuggles, cuddles and belly rubs!

All in all this is a pretty great place to stay! It's loads of fun messing with the boys because they are total gentlemen and would never be mean to me in any way!

Actually, I should tell you that I luvs these guys... they are my heroes!

I don't know if they've ever told you all this story but this is why I luvs them...

My mom adopted me when I was 3 years old. Up until then, I spent my whole life in a bathroom and didn't get to go anywheres. When I went to live with my mom she would take me to the dog park everyday but I was so scared that I'd hide in her jacket! Every time I was there these two guys would be there too, They wanted to be friends but I was having NONE of it until a couple weeks later... by that time I was getting brave enough to sit beside my mom on the bench.

There I was on the bench and the boys were sniffing nearby when one of their big dog friends, Wendell arrived. This was the first time that I would meet Wendell and he was a BIG hound dog! Wendell came bouncing over and tried to sniff me and I was so scared that I cried out... you would never guess what happened next! Both Sam and Pippen ran over and got between me and Wendell and yelled some HBO words at him! He was so scared that he ran off!

After that if I saw my boys at the park I knew I'd be safe so I wasn't scared anymore! Eventually, I even started telling off the big dogs on my own if they sniffed me wrong! I even scared three labs one day that tried to gang up on me... I'm sure they'll think twice next time they meet a Yorkshire Terrier!

So even if everybuddy else thinks they are cracker dog crazy... I know the truths about them!

They tell me that my mom will be picking me up today to take me home again... I had an awesome vacation and would give Sam and Pippen's four paws up for great vacation destination even if they did smack me on the head a couple times!

A Visitor for the Holidays!

Our visitor for the holidays has arrived!

It's Pippen's girlfriend, Mitzi... and as you can see I sat back while they did the kissy greeting. No need for me to get involved in all that stuff!

Mitzi would look positively huge if our tree was 8 feet tall but it isn't... she is a Yorkie after all!

Pippen has taken over her bed already but don't worry, Mitzi has taken over one of his!

Then we all headed outside for a little break.

Mitzi already looks like she owns the joint!

She's a great addition to our security outfit! With three of us, nothing will get by us!

Mom just keeps shaking her head and saying 'Oy! It's like herding cats!'

Now we've all settled down for a nap... and you know what???

WTF Wednesday - Foot Rub Edition!

This morning mom said to me, Sam... how would you like a foot rub???

And I thought, you bet mom! Finally I've trained her to see to my every need! I had pictures of a nice relaxing massage on the pads and in between the toes... yeah... that's what I'm talking about!

Even a little kitteh cleaning would probably be nice!

But that, my friends, is not what I got...

Instead, this came creeping up on me... OMG! I wonder where it's been?

After I gave her feets a good cleaning and de-stinking...

that foot rub turned into something pretty awesome!

Oh yeah... right there... that's the spot!

A Nice Sun Shiney Day!

So it's December 20th today and here we are in Canada and it's +9 (that's in Celsius)... I decided that I'd just hang in the front yard for awhile to watch the world go by... then I saw them... a bunch of guys in orange vests!

I yelled some drunken sailor HBO words at them to get them off my property!

Ruh Roh... I think they might have heard me... they are coming this way!

This truck was SO big we moved away from the street!

And then the pancake making truck went by...

and finally the truck that carries everything went by...

Mom says that they were filling pot holes... but what does she know?

All I know is I got them to leave and our house is safe again!

Our Christmas Tree!

We pestered and pestered mom until finally she decided that she'd get off her bottom and put up our tree! Finally it feels like Christmas here.

Mom still needs to fix the tinsel but if we know her like we think we do, we figure she'll fix that next year...

Here's a black Poodle mom got last year and there's a flying snowman she picked up a couple weeks ago at a thrift store.

Here's our squirrel! We've heard from some other dogs on facebook that they think it's weird that there's a squirrel on our tree. We say... where else would the squirrel be?

and the Frogger... and personally, we've never seen a frog in a tree so we think this is a lot weirder than the squirrel...

I don't know how computer literate you all are out there but we've found the most awesome game around!

When mom isn't home we log onto her laptop and start playing.

It stimulates our mentals to no end! Especially those times we get 4 'E's and 3 'I's... How's a dog supposed to make a GRR or a WOOF out of that?

Sam, we gots a G, I, N, A, Q, W and another G... and there's only a G open! What word can you think of for that???

Just wanted to say thanks for all the birthday wishes yesterday.

I really appreciated them all - well... except for the visual of Puddles nekkid! I could have done without that!

I had an awesome day and Pippen threw a stupendous party that went well into the night!

Today I'm feeling every day of my eight years! I have to admit mixing dog cookies and cat food is a lethal combination!

I'm gonna snooze today and get back at it tomorrow!

Mom finally picked up our photos with Santa!

I look pretty happy here... Santa just told me I was on the NICE list! Yeah, you heard that right! Sam was a good boy in 2011! SWEET!

On the other paw... Santa told Pippen he was only borderline nice! And if you know, 'Goody Four Shoes' you'll know that just put the worrys in the boy... Pippen was hoping for some awesome presents this year so now he's not sure if he's getting them!

I told him that Santa was just yanking his walking string but he wouldn't let it go... even after Santa told him that he was way nicer than me!

You know what else??? The photographer and the helper lady both told me I could be a model! They said that I take direction well and am happy! Oh yeah... and extremely good looking too!

I will admit that I was snuggling with mom on the sofa when a weird orange ball of fur pushed me off of her lap! This part is totally true...

This might look like I'm snuggling with the interloper but this is obviously photoshopped... resting my head on a kitty would cause the transference of kitty cooties to my doggie furs. That's not something I would risk!

Just the thought of cootie transference gives us both the heebeejeebees!

Whatever you may think this is NOT a photo of me about to give the kitteh a kiss... that would be just gross!

Saturday Adventure!

So mom told us this morning that we were going to go see the 'big guy in red'... Who the heck is that we wondered?!?

We checked the pee-mail... he hadn't been here!

Maybe he's in Starbucks???

Is he hiding under these leaves???

I think I smell reindeer poop over here!

Uh Oh! Do you see what I see???

He wasn't ready to see us yet so we went into the store to look around and look what we saw! A kitteh! He was all brave and stuff, meowing at us through the glass door. Hope he finds a home for Christmas!

Then it was time! We went to see the man himself! We were the fourth doggies in line and by the time we were finished there were almost a gazillion more doggies there! Good thing we were early.

Mom's friend took this picture but we couldn't use the flashy because it messed up the official flashy beast so it's a little dark and grainy...

I didn't really want to sit with him but he had cookies and Pippen was totally not into it. We got a photo each by ourselves with Santa and then together - that's a total of three pictures!

Don't even ask mom about getting us to sit nice - she said something about herding cats would've been easier!

And that's not all! Santa was nice enough to give us gift bags!

We each got one and they had lots of loot in them...

We even got stockings for mom to fill up for the official day. We gots three different treat samples, a calendar, a frisbee, poop bags, coupons and a couple other things...

Now that that adventure is over...

we're going to have a nap!

Soccer Match Sunday!

Mom went out with some friends yesterday afternoon to a cat rescue sale. She only bought a few things and said that they even had kittens there!

One thing she bought was this awesome soccer ball stuffie - it cost her 50 cents!

Chico said that since it was from the cat rescue sale it was obviously for him!

Don't even think about it dude! It's mine!

Chico totally tried to steal it away from me but I have some awesome moves...

Then he changed tactics and snuck up behind me and tried to get it again!

I told him in no uncertain terms to move away from the ball! Despite all my efforts to keep the ball to myself...

Someone always takes over! Look at the crazy look in his eye - nobody wants to mess with the crazy dog!

Once he got it he wouldn't let anyone else have it... even mom!

He even had to take it outside on our walkie later on.

We're planning on another match later today... I'm hoping to get it away from him and keep it for myself!

How Annoying!

Sometimes at night, while mom is watching TV, I'll go sit with her. Usually I can trust her to behave herself, especially if she's been working that day. Lately though, it seems she's up to no good!

For some reason she keeps the flashy beast next her on a shelf near where she sits to watch the TV.

Last night, I sat next to her, facing the TV... do you know what she did next? Started blowing at my ears!

And when I turned around... FLASHY!

I told her to stop it! but she said that she's trying to get the 'over-the-shoulder sexy look...

Maybe if I do a 'Billy Idol' snarl she'll take the hint???

No??? How about a little tongue action??

Searching for Wolverine!

Today we got up bright and early and went to the groomers! Mom fooled us again by saying we were going on an adventure and then where do we end up? Getting baths and haircuts!

But then when she picked us up, she said that we would go to Hatley Park. We weren't too excited until she said that is where Wolverine and all the X-Men live!

Holy Macaroni!

Doesn't look like anyone's around... maybe they are all sleeping in.

Let's see if we can get closer! Somebuddy must be home!

This is where I slipped and fell into a pile of goose poop! Totally wasn't my fault... I would NEVER do something like that right after being to the groomers!

Actually... does anyone else notice the 'ghost-like' presence behind me? Maybe I was pushed!

Hey! I see peoples! Is that Storm or maybe that dude that always wears the sunglasses...

Come on, Mom! Let's check the place out...

This place is kinda nice... really quiet considering it's supposed to be a school.

There's the front door... mom didn't want to get any closer in case dogs weren't allowed.

There's all the offensive geese! Don't poop on the grass you smelly geese! Innocent and clean doggies can slip in that stuff you know!

You should have heard them honking at us!

and down the steps to the ocean.

We didn't go down to the ocean... just ran around the field some more.

Just check out the goose poop all smushed into my neck!

Mom even had the nerve to tell me I stunk!

and you'll never guess what happened when we got home...

ANOTHER bath!

Two baths in one day is more than any dog should have to endure!

We never saw Wolverine or any of the other X-men or the students. Mom says that we'll go back again another day to see if they are home.

Mom's off work today butt it's raining out! I guess it isn't too bad because she said she wasn't going to go shopping in this weather - she'd rather stay home!

So she's baking butt only things for her NOTHING for us! Now that she's got the first banana bread loaf in the oven she said she'd take us for a walkie.

Even at the end of October we still have flowers! Actually, there's tons of flowers out now that it's raining out again.

Okay mom, this is far enough. It's raining out and I wanna go home!

I think I'll run the rest of the way!

Uh oh! A massive pile of leaves... I hope mom doesn't get the idea for a photo shoot...

Crap! I just won't look at the camera... that'll show her!

Late yesterday there was a serious breach in Big Bed Protocol! Somedog, who shall remain nameless (Sam), didn't eat his cookie downstairs. Instead he took it upstairs to save later...

EAT THE COOKIE IN THE BIG BED!!!!

Luckily, I found it before mom.

Being the pawtastic brother that I am, I was started to nose it over to the pillow so that I could hide it.

It was a lot of hard work...

and it didn't seem like I was getting any closer to the pillow.

Then, I had a better idea!

I would just EAT it!

Mom would never find it then!

I dunno what to do about those crumbs though...

Today we went on an adventure and it being Sunday and all, we decided we'd go to church!

A whole bunch of other doggies and even kittehs went too... we gots lots of pictures to show you so go get your popcorn and sit back and relax.

It was too early to go in so we went for a little wander around.

It's a good thing we did because we found our friends, The Cookie Lady and Telly!

As you may already know, our mom makes us do CHORES!

Today, she wrote out a list of groceries we need and told us to go and do the shopping while she's at work. Can you imagine it? Does she think we sleep all day? Doesn't she know we have impawtant stuffs to do???

We put up a fuss and whined and complained but all she said was "if those groceries ain't ordered by the time I get home, it's to the pound withs the both of you!"

All we could think was... Holy Cat Crap! We gotta get her some of those happy foodables she likes!

So we logged onto our grocery store account on the interwebs... we would have taken pictures but, you know... the photographer was at work...

That's not really the fun part anyway.

The fun part is waiting for the groceries to be delivered... we asked the computer to send them between 6:30 and 8:00 pm so that mom would be home to pay for it - we're smart like that...

Anyway... here I am at about 7:00 pm...

Is he here yet???

Come on, mom! We gots to wait outside so he doesn't get losted!

OMD! OMD! Is it... could it be???

It is!

I can smell the milkbones from here!

Snap to it, dude! We've been waiting long enough!

Saturday Mountain Adventure!

This morning Pippen and I asked mom if we could go on an adventure and she said...

YES!

So we headed out to Mt. Tolmie.

We drove the car to the top cuz mom is just too lazy to walk up.

To get the adventure started, we made sure to let everybuddys know we were here!

The we checked out the view...

That's our downtown in the distance. The water is called the Juan de Fuca Strait and those are the Olympic Mountains in Washington State. If you biggify the picture and look real close you might even be able to see parts of Port Angeles, Washington. So that would be looking southwest...

To the west are the Sooke Hills.

Now we went to check out the eastern view and found this big slab of concrete. Mom said its a lookout...

Wow! Look at all that water!

This is looking northeast and if you had super duper eyes you might see Vancouver BC... of course, those mountains would have to get out of the way...

Okay... let's see what else is here...

Steps! Yeah, let's go down them.

and a trail... wonder where it goes?

Hey mom! Come on up... it isn't a hard climb up here.

Well, mom didn't want to climb the big rock so we left some pee-mail and headed back up the stairs.

What? Stay away from the edge? How else would I go down the mountain???

Hey... I think I see McDonald's...

Holy Guacamole! I feel tiny!

Another big rock to climb!

Nope... I still can't see Vancouver.

I think I like being way up high... you can see forever!

Okay, okay... jeez, mom! I'm not going to fall over the edge!

I finally managed to get Pippen to check out view from the edge of the cliff!

and then it was time to get back into the car and drive down the mountain and head home.

So she called Pippen over and got him to help roll up some newspaper...

Pretty soon this newspaper is going to be in little pieces!

Mom tried to take it back but I was having none of it!

Visiting Mitzi!

Mom was off work today so we thought we'd head over to our best girl's house to spend some quality time with her!

Mitzi has an awesome backyard that we could run around in...

and investigate all the nooks and crannies.

We even gots to see our former kitteh sister, Daisy! She lives with Mitzi and her mom now and is as cranky as ever!

While I sat around like the good boy I am, Sam barked at everything!

He barks so loud that his tail puffs up!

And here's our hostess! Miss Mitzi turned 6 on Monday so she wanted us to come by to celebrate. She even had milkbones on hand for munchies!

This is Bree, Mitzi's next door neighbour.

Mitzi has to check on her garden and do some clean up... she tried to get us to do some work but we were there to pawty!
